BLUE BLOOD PROGRESS

blue-bloodI stumbled upon this in-progress shot of "Blue Blood Bleed Red" that I thought was interesting. like I said before, I try to take as many progress shots as I can. there's so much that goes on during the process that I can learn from, which almost always consist of things to avoid for the next go 'round. plus, it's fun to see paintings in a state they'll never be again.

I didn't tint this one before I started, which at the time I had just started doing, but here I think I just forgot. It does make a huge difference, but I it came out ok anyway. this was also my first attempt at painting the model, then painting the model. I'm constantly amazed that pretty girls even volunteer their time to help me out, let alone agree to have acrylic paint smeared on them. I'm very grateful.
