MAKING A MESS

Happy Holidays! I've been meaning to post for weeks and just haven't gotten around to it -- and not for lack of content this time either. I came to the realization that now that my December shows are over, I have about 4 months or so to paint an entire solo show, as I'm supposed to be at the Shooting Gallery (SF) in May. HOLY! Of course, I've also been feeling a little bored so i've been experimenting a lot, and planning even more. It's amazing how much time I can spend staring at canvases, reference photos, the internet, etc. So it's been a little stressful. plus, I have new ideas, which means I need new reference photos, and booking models during the holidays has proved impossible. enough complaining.

I'll be back with another quick post about Art Basel, as well as more of my usual dribble. In meantime, I've been working on a diptych these last few weeks and because I have the two canvases setup on the wall, the distance to my pallet (which isn't very portable) was driving me crazy. So I came up with a little satellite pallet I made from an ikea picture frame (below). The frames come in packs of 5 for about $5 and with a little tape, make awesome little portable glass pallets. It's been working great so I thought I'd share.

more soon!
